Visa Types:
There are several ways to obtain a permanent residence visa for Australia. If you are a business owner, the business skills program could be right for you. If you have close relatives, you may be able to secure their sponsorship and extra points to qualify. For parents, spouses, children & other qualifying relatives of an Australian citizen, there is one of the family migration routes available.
If you belong to the vast majority of those who seek to migrate to Australia, who don't have any relatives or sponsors, all you need to do is pass the points test to qualify under the general skilled migration program. Even if you are short of points, some times it may be possible to secure sponsorship from a State/Territory government for extra points.
Potential migrants to Australia are selected based on skills, health, financial resources, age, English language ability and family and business contacts in Australia. Race, gender and culture are not considered at all. Almost half of the places each year goes to skilled migrants as Australia seeks those migrants who have skills and qualifications to improve the Australian society and economy.

Things To Do For Migrating To Australia
1. As an initial step for immigration to Australia, first find out your eligibility. You can consult our immigration law practitioner at UNI for assessment.
2. At second stage, UNI will assess your eligibility against all Australian migration regulations and that of DIAC and would render you a prompt report.
3. If you meet all criteria and score enough points, we can send you an agreement to begin the process of your immigration application for Australia.
4. We will provide all immigration advice and closely follow-up to lodge the skill assessment and immigration application for Australia.
5. Once you get the permanent residence visa for Australia, you would be briefed about job search, Australian lifestyle issues, housing, studies and cultural assimilation etc.
Skilled Migrants
There are five categories of migrants in the Skilled Scheme.
Independent Skilled Migrants:
For qualified persons in an approved occupation in Australia Must be under 45 to apply.
Skilled Migrants:
Applicants who have close family members in Australia able to sponsor them. Applicants are assessed on age, qualifications, English & other language abilities.
Distinguished Talent:
This is a small category for especially talented people, particularly in the arts or in sports.
Employer Nominated Migrant:
Employers may nominate skilled people from overseas to fill an Australian job vacancy when no one local has suitable skills for the job. Age, qualifications and English abilities are assessed.
Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme:
If your Australian employer, who wants to nominate you, is in a remote area outside metropolitan districts, he or she can sponsor you through this scheme.
Business Migrants
Business Migrants come under the Skilled Migrants Stream, but there are so many special provisions for them that Australian Visas puts them in separate categories.
There are six categories for people to apply for a permanent visa in the Business Migrant class.
4 Classes for overseas applicants
2 Classes for persons already in Australia and most likely have an established business in Australia
Both are points tested based on business turnovers, business assets, personal assets, employee numbers, total wages etc.
. Business Owners - State or Territory Sponsored: This is the same as the visa for Business Owners, but has lower requirements.
. Senior Executives: This is a points tested
visa for senior executives in a large companies. It has points awarded
for age, English language ability and net personal assets.
. Business Migrant, Investment linked: These applicants must demonstrate a history of business ownership and investment activities. This is a points tested category.
Family Migrants
Family migrants must have a responsible relative in Australia who will sponsor them. Family members not able to support themselves (aged relatives or dependent children) apply under this class. Independent working age family members should apply under the skilled Migrant - Australian linked class.
As a Family migrant you will not be tested on your skill level or your English Language ability, but you will be assessed against Australia's health and character requirements, as are all migrants. You may apply as a Family Migrant in one of the following categories:
Partner:
Spouse, or de facto Spouse, Partner Migration
Visa - or established partner Fiancée Visa (Prospective Marriage
Partner) - intending to get married, a Fiancée Interdependent
Partner Migration Visa.
Child
Children's (Child) Migration Visa
Adoption Migration
Visa Orphan Child Migration
Parents:
Parent applications are given a low priority.
Other Family:
Aged Dependent Relative, Family Migration - this is for elderly people who are now single, without a partner. Remaining Relative Visa - for a relative who is the last family member to remain overseas. Career Migration Visa - this visa is for someone traveling to Australia to look after a relative.
Special Eligibility
The following categories of migrant can apply under this section:
. Former citizens or residents of Australia
. Family of New Zealand citizens - for dependents of New Zealand citizens who have settled or intend to settle permanently in Australia.
